Best Restaurant Representing Charlotte

The time has come to select your favorite restaurant in the QC area! If you had someone in town the has never been here before, where would you take them? The only requirements are that the restaurant can't be a huge chain present in many cities, and it must be open for lunch and dinner services. Voting will be tabulated based on comments here. We will feature the restaurant here and post a review to our friends at Yelp, along with other social media publicity. Good luck and happy eating!

Great idea, Joe!

I always, *always* bring out-of-town guests to The King's Kitchen. Is it the best southern cuisine in town? Not necessarily. But to me, it best represents the Charlotte I'm proud to call home.

The King's Kitchen offers a true southern style menu designed by North Carolina native Jim Noble, sourced with local ingredients. It provides employment opportunities and the chance to learn the restaurant trade to people in need of a fresh start. And the proceeds go toward feeding the most vulnerable and needy in our community.

All of those elements -- the food, the support of local growers, the people, and the community spirit -- are things I love about Charlotte, and what I want others to take away with them after their visit here.
